The holiday season is here! Every year, the Milwaukee area transforms into a winter wonderland for the season, offering a large variety of events to get you and your family into the festive spirit. There’s something for everyone this season, this blog will highlight some of the key events happening in the Milwaukee area this holiday season.
Santa’s Mailbox
Children can drop off letters to Santa (no postage required) and receive personalized replies if a return address is included.

Ornament Trail
Explore 15 hand-painted, larger-than-life ornaments created by renowned artists.
- Where: Wisconsin Avenue & Water Street
- When: November 21 – January 19, 2025
Milwaukee Public Museum Holiday Decor
The “Streets of Old Milwaukee” and European Village exhibits will be adorned with festive decorations. Special events include Cocoa & Candy Canes (December 7) and live opera performances (December 9).

Jingle Bus Tours
For $5, take a narrated bus tour of downtown Milwaukee’s festive sights. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
- Where: Courtyard Milwaukee Downtown (300 W. Michigan Street)
- When: December 5th through December 29th, every Thursday – Sunday, 5 pm-9 pm. The bus does not run on Christmas Eve and Christmas.
Christmas in the Ward
This annual event features live entertainment, local shopping, food trucks, s’mores, reindeer interactions, and a stunning fireworks display over the Milwaukee River. There’s also a tree lighting ceremony and visits with Santa

- When: Friday, December 6, 2024 (5:30 PM – 8:30 PM)
Candy Cane Lane
Experience a drive-through holiday light display with donations supporting the MACC Fund.
- Where: West Allis Neighborhood (84th to 92nd Streets, and Oklahoma to Montana Avenues)
- When: November 24, 2024 – December 26, 2024; Lights on nightly from 6 PM to 9 PM
