2018 Christmas Events and Festivals in the Milwaukee Area

With the holiday season upon us, many individuals and families are looking for holiday-themed events to attend. Luckily, there is no shortage of fun activities going on in MIlwaukee and southern Wisconsin.

In the spirit of the season, Tabak Law has compiled a list of 2018 Christmas events and festivals in the Milwaukee area. Check out our list below – we hope to see you out and about this year. Happy Holidays!

    Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival – Milwaukee

    November 15 – January 1

    This is the 20th year of this event which encompasses downtown Milwaukee. The event’s website contains the full list of events, times and locations.

    Breakfast with Santa at the Pfister – Milwaukee

    Saturdays and Sundays, December 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23

    Santa will be in attendance for a breakfast and event that is sure to please. Reservations will be required by calling 877-704-5340. There will also be a Christmas Celebration Brunch at the Pfister on Dec. 25.

    A Cedarburg Christmas – Cedarburg

    Mid-November through Christmas

    Downtown Cedarburg will be buzzing with holiday cheer during this event where the local shops will be full of lights and displays. Santa will be in his workshop and the Santa’s Dash Away 5K will be on Dec. 16.

    Country Christmas – Pewaukee

    November 30 – December 31

    Located at Country Springs Hotel, this is Wisconsin’s largest drive-through Christmas lights display. The path goes through the Country Christmas Trail, Christmas Village and Streets of Bethlehem.

    Midnight Magic – Mukwonago

    December 1

    A town-wide festival that features a shopping parade, fireworks, pictures with Santa, horse-drawn carriage ride and much more.

    Christmas in the Ward – Milwaukee

    November 30

    Milwaukee’s Third Ward will be filled with fireworks, reindeer, horse-drawn carriage rides and much more. Santa will be in attendance for the kickoff at 5:30 p.m.

    Breakfast and Lunch with Santa at the Zoo – Milwaukee

    December 1-2, 8-9, 15-16

    The Milwaukee County Zoo will be filled with holiday cheer with Santa and Mrs. Clause for a special breakfast and lunch on select dates.

    Santa Hustle 5K – Milwaukee

    December 2

    Thousands of Santa’s will be in attendance at Veteran’s Park for the annual 5K event.

    Homemade Holidays – Franklin

    December 1

    Children are invited to the Wehr Nature Center to create some homemade objects. These will include recycled and re-purposed objects. There is a fee for admission.

    An Old World Christmas – Eagle

    December 1-2, 8-9, 15-16

    Go back in time to the 1880s with wood-fired stoves, bonfires and good cheer. There is a chance for a unique holiday photo. There will also be holiday characters, sleigh rides and more.

    Festivus – Milwaukee

    December 8

    The 3rd Annual Festivus One Mile Run will be held on Brady Street at 3 p.m. Finishers will receive a Festivus pole medal and a free beer at local participating local taverns.

    Canadian Pacific Holiday Train – Milwaukee & Wauwatosa

    December 6 and 7

    This event will take place at W St. Paul Amtrak Depot in Milwaukee and Wauwatosa Village in Wauwatosa.

    Christmas Bird Count – Franklin

    December 16

    The Wehr Nature Center will be the location of the annual Christmas Bird Count that will feature some of the most persistent birders in the area.

    Waukesha Jamboree – Waukesha

    January 25-27

    There is fun for all ages at the annual Waukesha Jamboree.

    Milwaukee Annual Chili Bowl – Milwaukee

    January 27

    Potowotomi Casino will be this year’s home of the largest chili-cookoff in Wisconsin. Enjoy more than 60 varieties of chili at the event.

    Jellystone Park’s Christmas Carnival of Lights – Caledonia

    November 24-December 31

    This is one of the most enjoyed light shows to travel through in the state, located at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park. This year it will feature Evy the Talking Christmas Tree, and a giant Santa sleigh that can seat up to 43 people.
