The annual festival of lights is a sight to behold – and it runs all the way until the new year on Jan. 1. Three downtown parks are a part of the display, and a favorite is hopping onboard the Jingle Bus which departs from 161 W. Wisconsin Ave on Thursday-Sunday evenings. Several Milwaukee tour companies also offer services to guide you through the displays.

Country Christmas

The largest drive-through light display in the state greets you at Country Christmas again this year. There are over a million lights illuminated to enjoy as you drive along the trail. There are also spots to stop along the way to explore. Country Christmas runs through Dec. 31.

Red Arrow Park Slice of Ice

Enjoy free skating on a rink that can fit 100 skaters at once at Red Arrow Park. There are even skate rentals for those who don’t have their own. You can also warm up inside the warming house on those extra cold days.

Santa at Milwaukee Zoo

Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be on hand at the Milwaukee Zoo on Dec. 21 and 22. The event will start with breakfast at 9 a.m. and launch at noon. There is a cost for this event.

Christkindmarket

Running until Dec. 24, this open-air market sits right outside Fiserv Forum in the plaza. Enjoy good from vendors around the world, and warm up to some hot cocoa and enjoy some spiced wine. The Timber Tent also offers some traditional German themed favorites under the heated tent.

Miller Valley Holiday Lights

An indoor and outdoor tour of Miller Valley is included in this venture, all for free. There’s a min brewery tour and a holiday lights display, with various stops along the way. Get to this one soon, as it ends Dec. 21.

Winter Wonders

Eighty holiday displays are set up in Whitnall Park for this all-new display for 2019. Winter Wonders runs through Jan. 1 and includes lighted trees and Christmas scenes from throughout the world for a cultural appeal.

These are just some of the many holiday happenings in the Milwaukee area for 2019. We hope you can get out and enjoy the season!
